longibracteata: long bracts.

H. turgida var. longibracteata is larger variety from turgida group. It is offsetting species, with rosettes up to 8 cm, leaves light green to yellowish green, usually with longer leaves with prominet translucent leave end. It forms larger clusters at the localities.


Distribution map
H. turgida var. longibracteata includes the larger forms from lower-lying areas from Bredasdorp to Riversdale. It always grow on steep rocky slopes above water streams. Around Riversdale are some forms which resembles a lot retusa.

H. turgida var. longibracteata is an easy species to grow, it needs a bit more light to remain compact. Propagation is easy by offsets.
