Distribution map
H. 'hammeri' is known from area around Die Kop, where it survives on the top of the hills, where still nature vegetation is left. It grows close to the maraisii and mutica. It could be nature hybrid population. Some of the plants resembles badia, which grows not that far away to the West.

H. 'hammeri' is attractive plant, all you need is to be patient, it is slow grower. Otherwise it needs similar growing conditions like mirabilis group. Propagation should be done by seed.
