Haworthia arachnoidea 'joubertii' M.Hayashi

H. arachnoidea 'joubertii' is interesting and attractive "species". It was described by M. Hayashi in Haworthia Study 14:16 (2010). It is distinguished by its lighter green colour and prominent spination. Leave keel and margins are translucent. It is solitary plant and some clones can be very nice.

Distribution map

H. arachnoidea 'joubertii' is known from area SE of Laingsburg. Bayer calls it simply arachnoidea/mucronata. To me it is "different enough" to show it here. There is a very strange record from Bosluiskloof - this is not typical 'joubertii', it´s much larger with wider leaves. As soon as I will get a proper photo, I will show it here.

It is not yet common plant in cultivation. It needs same growing conditions like other arachnoidea species.
